We have identified six Rudiments without which economic development cannot occur.  They are like the eight amino acids required for protein formation to occur.  They are water, nutrition, sanitation, health, education, and vocation.  When one of them are missing, economic development is hampered, or even truncated.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

TGUP does extensive work in sanitation.  In Indonesia, we have installed more than 130 latrines to help the villagers of Ban on the island of Bali get E.coli bacteria out of their water supply.  We supply the materials and the villagers do the work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Zambia, we built a new set of latrines for the school at Mbuluyenji.  The old set had filled in and had been condemned by the health authorities.  Without latrines, the school could not operate because of the potential for the spread of disease. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

In Kenya, we have built many sets of latrines, all at different schools.  In addition to their health aspect, sanitary latrines help adolescent girls deal with their period.  Without such facilities, the girls routinely miss a week of school every month.  Eventually, they get so far behind they end up dropping out.  It is probably the greatest waste of human potential on the planet.  Modern, sanitary latrines help solve the problem<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
