The village of La Quebradita is in a rural area outside Tipitapa. The only school in the village is a metal shipping container that is being used as a classroom and is too small for the 44 preschool and elementary school students. Two teachers share the space but, being made of metal, is noisy and gets very hot.
We will build a large new classroom which will be used for the children during the day, and as a community center outside of school hours. Adult education, vocational training and health clinic visits will all be offered during evenings and weekends. The project will also include new latrines for the school.
