TGUP\u2019s Science Lab in a Box<\/em><\/strong> \u2122 (SLaB) provides the equipment, instruments, supplies, and curriculum to enable developing world high schools to teach laboratory Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at a world class level. SLaBs are only made available to schools with requisite physical facilities, curriculum, and staff. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Narayan Jan Secondary School, in the suburbs of Kathmandu, has 428 students and 22 teachers. It had a dedicated science lab but was lacking the necessary equipment and instruments to perform the required experiments. The first step to qualify for a SLaB is for the school to complete an Application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the SLaB Application has been approved by TGUP, the school’s science department completes a Quotable Bill of Materials. This lists their chosen equipment and supplies and is sent to at least two science vendors for quotes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
