This project, funded by the First United Methodist Church in Palo Alto, CA, provided 60 smoke-reducing stoves for Maasai homes where women typically cook over an open fire in an unventilated hut made of sticks & mud. Many children die of lung problems due to inhaling the smoke. These new stoves remove more than 90% of the smoke.
