Pawan Secondary School has more than 1,200 students, 95% of whom are from economically disadvantaged families belonging to the Madhesi or Dalit groups (untouchables). The school has a dirt courtyard where the children play but there is no place to sit, so they end up sitting in the dirt (or in the mud during the monsoon season).
We are installing 12 benches around the courtyard so that the students and teachers do not have to sit on the ground. The concrete components have arrived and the benches are getting assembled and painted.
Finished! There are now 12 new benches placed around the courtyard.
