The staff at Karatina currently hand wash and dry all of the clothing and linens for 120 students. The children often soil their beds so not only is the washing and drying extremely time-consuming for the staff, but they are also exposed to unhealthy elements as all the washing is done with bare hands.
The project will provide for two heavy-duty industrial washing machines that each have a 21kg capacity.
