Mwiyogo Primary School is a public school in West Nyeri, Kenya. It was founded in 1966 and serves 157 boys and 170 girls. The school’s families are relatively poor. The parents are, typically, casual laborers working for the foreign plantations that grow coffee, tropical fruits, and other crops for export.
As part of the larger, overall plan for the school’s rehabilitation, TGUP has: built a new classroom; brought in electricity and water; built a new Science Lab and provisioned it with TGUP’s Science Lab in a Box ™; and built a new kitchen. This playground is the consummation of a large vision of how to transform an education setting. Before this, the children had nothing to play on or with.
