TGUP’s Kenyan partner, Kiini Sustainable Initiative, will build 4 latrines exclusively for the 153 girls at Mucagara Mixed Day Secondary School in Ngariama, Kirinyaga county. Girls end up having to wait in line to use the latrines, often causing them to be late for class. And there is no place to wash up, which is particularly troublesome when a girl has her period. She often ends up skipping school altogether, leading to eventual dropout.
