Hopeful Hearts Children’s Academy has 236 students, all crammed into 4 classrooms. TGUP recently installed a water purification system for the school, and now, with your help, a new kitchen was built. The old one was dark, dangerous, and not sufficient to feed the children.

This new kitchen was built on a concrete foundation with walls of brick and a sheet metal roof. It measures 6 x 6 meters and contains two new commercial cooking vats, called “jikos,” which are ventilated by stainless steel chimney pipes. It is clad by iron doors and serving windows.
