The Loibor-Siret Secondary School has 400 students but the kitchen was just an open air shack, if that. The conditions were dangerous and unsanitary, with livestock and rodents frequently interrupting the cooking. This project built a new secure kitchen with preparation areas and storage for food items.
The finished building is 23′ x 16′ and contains 3 large cooking ‘fireboxes’, a food preparation area, a washing area, food storage, and firewood storage. For security and food storage reasons, there are just a few windows for sufficient ventilation.
